I work as a uni­ver­si­ty lec­tu­rer in spe­ci­al edu­ca­ti­on at the De­part­ment of Te­ac­her Edu­ca­ti­on of Uni­ver­si­ty of Tur­ku. Ori­gi­nal­ly, I am a te­ac­her in ear­ly child­hood edu­ca­ti­on, te­ac­her in spe­ci­al needs and class te­ac­her. I have also stu­died su­per­vi­sing and con­sul­ting, gui­ding of child­ren’s emo­ti­o­nal skills and em­po­we­ring pho­tog­rap­hy.

As a lec­tu­rer, I te­ach main­ly spe­ci­al edu­ca­ti­on pe­da­go­gics and spe­ci­al edu­ca­ti­on te­ac­hers stu­dents. I su­per­vi­se stu­dents’ the­ses and prac­ti­cal trai­ning. My re­se­arch in­te­rests lie in child­ren’s so­ci­al-emo­ti­o­nal com­pe­ten­cies, in­ter­ven­ti­ons in sup­por­ting and edu­ca­ting the­se com­pe­ten­cies in dif­fe­rent en­vi­ron­ments and edu­ca­tors’ own so­ci­al and emo­ti­o­nal skil­ful­ness. I am also fas­ci­na­ted by te­ac­hers’ gro­wing ref­lec­ti­ve thin­king.

In my lei­su­re time, I en­joy re­a­ding, knit­ting and playing with my grandc­hild­ren.
