Saija Tanhuanpää

Teacher of your participation course is Saija Tanhuanpää from Rauma. Mother of two adult children and grandmother of five lovely school-going children. I´ve been active all my life: first working with children Kindergarten as a teacher and chef, then little bit studies (actually all the time) and after studies consulting Early Childhood Education teachers in Rauma. Then I was working as a project planner in the area of four municipalities (one was Rauma). We were working together with 50 professionals to create a Family center to Rauma – it started to work after three years after planning. During the challenging time in this project my interest towards participation raised and I made a research plan to the University of Turku e.g. started to make my dissertation.
My hobby has been leading sports and gymnastics to children aged 3–18 (also aikido and gymnastics for adults) and politics in all levels in a small municipality of Pyhäranta where we used to live earlier.
This season my work consists of teaching special education to Early Childhood and Primary Education students (50 %) and another half (50 %) is leading InnoPlay project (2019-2021) as a Project Manager.
