  • learns about the role of the family in the child’s development, growth and learning
  • understands the time and place-dependence of the family and parenthood and recognises the phenomena involved in becoming a parent from both an individual and a societal perspective.
  • is familiar with the main theories of the family and parenting
  • be able to examine the family from the perspective of different disciplines
  • understands the importance of cooperation with the family and the home and his/her own role in this cooperation
  • can examine the construction of parenthood and parenting support in the context of children with disabilities, long-term illnesses or other developmental or learning and growth risks
  • understand and apply theoretical concepts and models of everyday family life and parenting of children with different background
